About the role:
The General Manager for North America is responsible for leading the North Americas Business Unit and is expected to develop and execute with his/her team a multi-year strategy that drives significant profitable growth across multiple B2B and B2B2C markets.
This position will leverage the company’s portfolio of products and solutions to expand existing customer relationships, as well as to develop and sign new business, driving collaboration with distributors, manufacturers, and other channels.
The GM has a direct communication liaison with the sales director for LATAM on common customers that operate in North and South America.
The role requires a willingness to travel extensively.
The General Manager of North America reports directly to the global sales director and is part of the company’s Global Executive Leadership Team. This role will include approx. 8x direct reports and a total team of 22x employees.

Currently, the company has operations in 14 countries and production facilities in 5: Japan, Colombia, Ecuador, Kenya, and The Netherlands. Their distribution network spans all continents. The company has the. head office and logistics center for the Americas in Miami, Florida.
Location: Miami, Florida
Compensation: $130,000 - $150,000 Annually + PLUS BONUS!!!
Available Shift: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm EST - Monday to Friday.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Define and drive a growth strategy to meet and exceed the annual sales and profitability targets.
- Recruits, leads and develops a high-performing and diverse team. The key is to develop a team spirit and a culture of “can do” attitude and collaboration to ensure an environment of self-empowerment, engagement, and personal development.
- Monitor, track, analyze, and evaluate profit margin, revenue stream, sales methods, expenses, and overall results, taking corrective action when plans are below target.
- Lead the development and expansion of account relationships; negotiation of supply and distribution agreements; and cultivation of professional & close relationships with senior management of targeted customers and prospects.
- The person in the role is to carry out all supervisory duties in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Set a personal example of high ethics and work standards.
- Responsible for the annual business plan and budgets including brand deployment, product, pricing, go-to-market and promotion strategies, objectives, policies, metrics, milestones, and special programs.
- Work in conjunction with the Global Leadership team and Management Team on strategy development and execution thereof.
- Ensure a structured and consistent sales and marketing approach in alignment with corporate goals through close working relationships with other Regions (especially South America); provide information to the leadership team regarding markets, growth challenges, new development programs, quality, regulatory compliance issues, etc.
- On-the-demand forecast input to Sales & Operation Planning and overseeing Logistics for North America, working closely with the Global Supply Chain team to ensure the targeted customer service levels.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-REQUIRED-
- Experience in Flower Industry is Mandatory for this position.
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year College or university in Business, Engineering, or other relevant area of study; MBA preferred.
- 15+ years of increasingly responsible international commercial experience in the flower industry.
- Building successful long-term relationships with major customers (retailers, e-tailers, and agribusiness) and distribution partners. Demonstrated executive presence to deal with large clients and board members when needed
- Leading, managing, and developing a team culture.
- High-energy individual with a strong work ethic; an entrepreneurial, action-oriented, hands-on, executive who will lead and “roll the sleeves”, inspiring his team and others in the organization to challenge the status quo and unlock optimization and improvement opportunities wherever these can be found.
- In-depth knowledge and use of Microsoft Office programs and Customer Relationship Management systems like Salesforce.com.
- Preferred: Experience overseeing businesses during the implementation
- Master's Degree in Sales & marketing or related
- 5+ years of experience in a sales & marketing management role.
- Prior sales/marketing achievements or certificates
- Creates, maintains, and updates departmental/staff development goals.
- Writes and conducts staff evaluations based on established performance measures.
- Oversees and follows through on staff disciplinary measures
- The Sales & Marketing Manager is able to make recommendations regarding hiring, firing, advancements, promotions, or other related changes in the status of staff members.
- The Sales & Marketing Manager is able to make decisions and recommendations to the new hire and supervisor training content for ERP systems.
- Fluent in English and Spanish in writing and speaking.
- Excellent business acumen and analytical skills as well as demonstrated oral and written communication as well as problem-solving skills.
