Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Sales Manager to lead and grow our tobacco sales operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing sales strategies, managing distributor and retail relationships, leading a sales team, and ensuring strong market presence while maintaining compliance with all regulatory and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue, volume, and market share targets
Manage and motivate a team of sales representatives to maximize performance
Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and key retail accounts
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to identify growth opportunities
Ensure compliance with all local laws, regulations, and company policies related to tobacco sales and marketing
Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports for senior management
Plan and execute trade promotions, product launches, and merchandising initiatives
Conduct regular field visits to evaluate execution, coverage, and sales effectiveness
Train, coach, and evaluate sales staff to ensure continuous improvement
Skills & Requirements
Proven experience (4+ years) managing field sales teams, preferably in tobacco, FMCG, or regulated consumer goods.
Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and growing distribution in a competitive market.
Strong leadership skills with demonstrable experience in coaching and developing salespeople.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, enabling the ability to build strong relationships with retailers, distributors, and internal stakeholders.
Comfortable using CRM and sales reporting tools (e.g., Salesforce, Excel, Hubspot) and mobile field apps.
Full driving licence and reliable transportation; ability to travel within the territory regularly.
Organised, self-motivated, and able to work independently while managing competing priorities.
Compensation & Schedule
Salary: $100,000-$110,000
Monday-Friday 9:00 am-5:00 pm
