As an independent contributor, you will report directly to the Vice President of Sales, collaborating closely with the leadership team, and cross-functional teams. What You’ll Do, and Why It Matters
This role centers on building strategic national partnerships, driving revenue, and maximizing velocity in a compliant, fast-moving market. You will own the full account lifecycle while leveraging internal tools like HubSpot CRM and cross-functional support. Here’s what you’ll tackle daily and why it matters:
Acquisition and Onboarding of National/Regional Distributors & Influential Key Accounts
What You’ll Do: Identify and target high-potential national accounts (major distributors, chain smoke shops, CBD retailers, convenience/gas station networks). Craft tailored pitches highlighting our compliant portfolio’s innovation, quality, and velocity potential. Negotiate terms, onboard new partners, and leverage your existing book of business to open doors rapidly.
Why It’s Important: These accounts are the engine of our national scale. Every major authorization expands our footprint and accelerates growth toward 15,000+ doors.
Strategic Relationship Management & Full-Cycle Marketing
What You’ll Do: Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, building deep relationships through regular check-ins, site visits, virtual calls, and proactive outreach. Conduct monthly/quarterly business reviews analyzing performance, setting joint goals, and securing commitments. Negotiate strategic digital placements, co-marketing campaigns, paid marketing features (e.g., sponsored listings, banner ads, social boosts), and in-store/online merchandising to enhance velocity and share of wallet.
Why It’s Important: Strong relationships plus targeted marketing drive retention, upsell opportunities, and sell-through, turning accounts into long-term advocates.
3. Inventory Management & Demand Planning
What You’ll Do: Monitor inventory levels across key accounts to maintain low out-of-stock rates, forecast demand, and coordinate with operations and 3PL partners for seamless fulfillment.
Why It’s Important: Reliability ensures product availability and trust in our national shipping model.
4. Portfolio & Promotional Execution
What You’ll Do: Drive adoption of the full hemp-compliant portfolio, customizing assortments for maximum placement. Execute promotional strategies including bundle pricing, buy gets, loyalty programs, and digital/in-store activations to boost velocity both online and on-shelf.
Why It’s Important: Broad SKU penetration and smart promotions maximize revenue per door and differentiate us in a competitive landscape.
5. CRM Mastery, Data Analysis, and Cross-Functional Collaboration
What You’ll Do: Own HubSpot CRM for your accounts: maintain pipelines, forecasts, and detailed notes; perform data analysis; deliver insightful reports to leadership and accounts. Use AI/automation tools to optimize outreach and performance. Collaborate with marketing, operations, and creative teams for custom solutions and campaign support.
Why It’s Important: Data-driven decisions and seamless internal alignment scale efficiency in a high-velocity national model. AI & Automations force multiply.
