We are seeking a friendly, reliable Food Runner/Server to support a private event for approximately 100 guests. This is a two-day engagement, suited to experienced hospitality staff who thrive in fast-paced, guest-facing roles.

Position Overview
This role will support service for a private event of approximately 100 guests across two consecutive days. Successful candidates will assist with the timely delivery of dishes from the kitchen to the table, clear plates and service ware efficiently, support servers and the kitchen to maintain smooth service flow, and ensure guests receive prompt, courteous attention throughout each service. The role is physically active and guest-facing, requiring excellent teamwork, clear communication and the ability to work swiftly in a busy environment.
Key Responsibilities
Collect plated dishes from the pass and deliver to guest tables promptly and carefully, following plating instructions and table numbers.
Support servers by bussing tables, clearing plates and glassware between courses and preparing tables for subsequent courses.
Liaise with kitchen staff and servers to communicate course timing, special requests and any service issues to ensure coordinated delivery.
Assist with setting up and clearing service stations, replenishing condiments, cutlery and napkins as required during service.
Monitor dining area for spills, debris or hazards and respond quickly to maintain a clean and safe environment for guests and colleagues.
Follow organisers’ seating plans and special dietary notes to ensure guests receive correct dishes and any allergen precautions are observed.
Assist with basic side-station tasks such as plating simple items, pouring water, and refilling bread or shared accompaniments.
Support post-event duties including clearing service ware, stripping tables, basic tidying and reporting any lost property or damage.
Adhere to health, safety and food hygiene procedures throughout the event.
Requirements
Previous experience in hospitality, particularly as a food runner, server or similar event role, is preferred.
Strong communication skills and a collaborative, service-focused attitude.
Ability to work quickly and calmly under pressure, managing multiple tasks during busy service periods.
Comfortable standing, walking and carrying trays for extended periods; able to carry up to 20 kg safely when required.
Basic understanding of common allergens and safe food handling practices.
Reliable and punctual with flexibility to work evening shifts across two consecutive event days.
Compensation & Schedule
$12 p/hr + Tips
Event Dates May 4 & 5, 2026
Two-day engagement: evening service each day (exact timings to be confirmed; typical shift 6:00 pm–11:00 pm). Please be available for a short pre-event briefing before the first service.
