Purchasing Agent
Own purchasing for a fast-growing global distribution business — negotiate with suppliers, protect margins, keep inventory moving, and improve procurement with smart technology.
WELCOME!
We are looking for a highly organised, commercially minded, and detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to join our growing hemp wellness manufacturing company.

Who We Are
We are a growing hemp wellness business developing and supplying high-quality products through a modern, commercially focused operating model. Our work involves coordinating with manufacturers, ingredient suppliers, packaging partners, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders to deliver reliable products and a consistent customer experience. We value ownership, clear communication, accuracy, and practical problem-solving.
Overview
We are seeking a capable Purchasing Agent to manage day-to-day procurement activities across ingredients, packaging, finished goods, and operational supplies. Reporting to the relevant operations or supply chain leadership, you will support the purchasing process from supplier sourcing and quotation through to purchase order management, delivery coordination, invoice matching, and stock availability.
This is an important role in ensuring that manufacturing and fulfilment operations run smoothly. You will work closely with suppliers and internal teams to maintain competitive pricing, reliable lead times, accurate records, and compliance with product and business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Management: Manage purchasing activities for hemp wellness ingredients, packaging, finished products, equipment, and general operational supplies.
Supplier Communication: Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, logistics providers, and other purchasing partners.
Purchase Orders: Prepare, issue, and track purchase orders, ensuring that specifications, quantities, pricing, delivery dates, and payment terms are accurate.
Stock Availability: Monitor inventory requirements, reorder points, lead times, and upcoming production needs to help prevent shortages and unnecessary overstocking.
Quotation and Cost Management: Request and compare supplier quotations, negotiate pricing where appropriate, and identify opportunities to improve purchasing value.
Delivery Coordination: Track inbound deliveries, resolve delays or discrepancies, and communicate changes to relevant internal stakeholders.
Quality and Compliance: Ensure purchased materials meet agreed specifications, documentation requirements, quality standards, and applicable hemp wellness regulations.
Purchasing Records: Maintain accurate supplier information, purchase order records, pricing data, delivery information, and procurement documentation.
Invoice and Reconciliation Support: Work with finance and operations teams to resolve invoice discrepancies and confirm that orders, receipts, and invoices are aligned.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with manufacturing, quality, inventory, fulfilment, finance, and product teams to support smooth operations.
Requirements
Experience in purchasing, procurement, buying, supply chain, or materials coordination, ideally within manufacturing, wellness, beauty, food, supplements, consumer goods, or a related industry.
Experience managing supplier relationships and coordinating orders from quotation through to delivery.
Strong understanding of purchase orders, supplier lead times, stock availability, delivery schedules, and invoice matching.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify pricing, quantity, specification, and delivery discrepancies.
Strong negotiation, organisation, prioritisation, and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable working with spreadsheets, purchasing systems, inventory platforms, and cloud-based business tools.
Strong written and spoken business English.
Ability to communicate professionally with suppliers and internal stakeholders at all levels.
Reliable follow-through and the ability to manage multiple orders, suppliers, and deadlines simultaneously.
