Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Research Chemist to lead the development and optimization of advanced extraction, purification, and ingredient development processes. This role will focus on improving ingredient purity, consistency, stability, and performance through scientific research and innovation.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in natural products chemistry, hands-on laboratory experience, and the ability to translate scientific research into scalable production processes. This individual will also provide scientific guidance on compound safety, pharmacology, and product development.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and optimize extraction, separation, and purification methods for natural compounds.
Design and implement purification workflows using preparative chromatography, crystallization, and fractionation.
Establish standardized ingredient specifications to ensure purity, quality, and batch-to-batch consistency.
Evaluate synthetic and semi-synthetic methods to improve ingredient quality, cost efficiency, and supply.
Develop new ingredient formats, including high-purity isolates and standardized extracts.
Scale laboratory processes from initial research to commercial production.
Research compound pharmacology, toxicology, mechanisms of action, and potential interactions.
Review scientific literature and provide research-based guidance on ingredient safety and product development.
Establish laboratory procedures, SOPs, technical reports, and documentation in alignment with GMP standards.
Identify new ingredient opportunities and contribute to research and product development strategies.
Evaluate emerging technologies, equipment, and processes to improve laboratory efficiency and product quality.
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. in Natural Products, Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacognosy, or a related field; alternatively, an M.S. with equivalent industry experience.
Bilingual in English & Spanish
5+ years of hands-on experience in natural product extraction, isolation, purification, or ingredient development.
Strong expertise in preparative chromatography, crystallization, separation techniques, and chemical synthesis.
Working knowledge of pharmacology and toxicology, with the ability to critically evaluate scientific research.
Experience scaling laboratory processes to commercial production.
Strong technical writing, documentation, and communication skills.
Ability to translate complex scientific concepts into practical recommendations for business and product development.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with dietary supplement GMP (21 CFR Part 111), regulatory affairs, or New Dietary Ingredient (NDI) notifications.
Experience developing bioavailability-enhancing formulations, including emulsions and complexation.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Compensation & Schedule
Compensation: $80,000-90,000 + benefits
Monday-Friday 9:00 am-5:00 pm on-site in Fort-Lauderdale
