Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Warehouse Cleaner to join our operations team. This hands-on role is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene and safety standards across warehouse and loading areas. The successful candidate will perform routine and deep cleaning tasks, support waste management and assist colleagues to ensure a safe, organised working environment. Reasonable adjustments will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitise warehouse floors, racking, workstations, break areas, restrooms and communal spaces following company procedures.

• Empty bins, manage waste segregation and prepare materials for recycling or disposal in line with environmental and health & safety requirements.

• Sweep, mop, vacuum and use appropriate cleaning equipment and chemicals safely, following manufacturer's instructions and COSHH guidance.

• Perform scheduled deep cleans, including high-level dusting, pallet area cleaning and spill response to maintain a hygienic environment.

• Report maintenance issues, damaged fixtures or safety hazards to supervisors and assist with minor upkeep tasks as required.

• Support loading bay and exterior area cleaning, including removal of debris and ensuring safe access for vehicles and pedestrians.

• Follow PPE and safety protocols at all times and contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

• Work cooperatively with warehouse colleagues and supervisors to accommodate operational needs, including supporting urgent cleaning requests.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in cleaning, facilities or warehouse environments preferred but not essential; full training will be provided.

• Basic literacy and numeracy skills with good attention to detail.

• Understanding of safe handling of cleaning chemicals and basic COSHH awareness is advantageous.

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work reliably with minimal supervision.

• Physically able to perform manual tasks, including frequent standing, walking, bending and lifting up to 25 kg with assistance or mechanical aid.

• Strong work ethic, punctuality and a positive, safety-first attitude.

• Willingness to work flexible hours when required, including occasional early starts or extended shifts during busy periods.

Physical & Safety Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, bending and manual handling of cleaning equipment and supplies.

• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to warehouse safety protocols at all times.

• Ability to work in varied temperature environments typical of warehouse and loading areas.

Compensation & Schedule

Hourly rate: $16 per hour, depending on experience.

Working hours: Monday–Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM standard hours with occasional early starts or extended shifts during peak periods; part-time hours considered.
