Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Warehouse Assistant to join our Miami operation. The successful candidate will support daily warehouse activities including receiving, picking, packing, staging and loading. This role requires practical forklift experience, attention to detail, the ability to follow procedures and the capacity to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
Receive and inspect incoming shipments, verify quantities and condition against paperwork and system records.
Manually unload containers and delivery vehicles and stage cargo in the correct areas.
Operate a forklift to move palletised cargo between staging, storage and loading areas in line with safety procedures.
Pick, pack and prepare orders for shipment using pick tickets or loading guides; palletise, wrap and label items as required.
Scan items and update inventory systems to ensure accurate records of inbound and outbound stock.
Load and secure cargo into containers and trailers, ensuring correct placement for transit and customer requirements.
Report discrepancies, damages or quality issues to supervision immediately and assist with documentation.
Maintain cleanliness and order in assigned work areas; remove empty pallets and skids to designated locations.
Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on forklifts and report any faults to the warehouse mechanic.
Adhere to all health and safety policies, wear required PPE and participate in safety training and meetings.
Qualifications
Minimum six (6) months recent warehouse experience with hands-on operational duties.
Experience operating a forklift to OSHA standards; company will provide authorisation to operate equipment where applicable.
Ability to read and understand basic English and accurately process alpha/numeric information.
Capable of following instructions, established procedures and making sound decisions in routine situations.
Good organisational and time management skills with the ability to work with limited supervision when required.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule including extended hours, weekends or holidays as business needs dictate.
High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Physical Requirements
Regular standing, walking, bending, reaching and repetitive motions; intermittent sitting while operating forklift.
Frequently lift and carry up to 10 lbs; occasionally lift and carry up to 75 lbs and push/pull up to 50 lbs.
Occasional climbing, squatting and overhead reaching.
Vision and hearing adequate to perform job tasks, including close and peripheral vision, depth perception and colour recognition.
Safety Requirements
Report safety hazards and incidents immediately.
Refuse unsafe tasks and follow company guidance on safe work practices.
Wear required personal protective equipment and comply with all safety procedures.
Participate in regular safety meetings and training sessions.
Compensation & Schedule
Starting rate: $18 per hour
Monday–Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.
